Hi, my name is Billy Clarke and I am delighted to be taking on my new role as “Recovery Education Facilitator” in the Mayo Recovery College.
Recovery Education is something that I have always had a deep passion for. As a person with lived experience of mental health challenges I have witnessed first-hand how Recovery Education can transform the lives of people with mental health challenges, their families and communities.
I have recently graduated with a degree in Applied Social Care and have a wealth of experience working with a wide range of community groups including “Failte Isteach-Teaching English to Migrants” and the “Big Brother/Big Sister Project”.
I am looking forward to delivering Recovery Education modules to all of our students as well as working with other Mental Health service providers in the ongoing development of a “recovery-oriented” Mental Health Service.
Hello and welcome to all. My name is Kevin Fenton and I am a Recovery Education Facilitator with the Mayo Recovery College.
Education has played a key role in my own recovery from mental health challenges. Recovery Education and Transformative Learning has brought me to a place where I now work as Recovery Education Facilitator. My own journey has very much dovetailed with The Mayo Recovery College. I am a former student and volunteer of the college, and now an employee.
I hold a Certificate in Peer Support Practice from the Atlantic Technological University - Mayo. Furthermore, I have gained broad ranging experience in recovery and transformation with Aware, Smart Recovery Ireland, Junior Achievement Ireland and as a Healthy Club Officer within the GAA.
I feel passionate and privileged to work in the shared learning environment of Recovery Education. It is a pleasure to facilitate modules on behalf of our wonderful students.
Hi there, My name is Karen and I am the Lead Peer Recovery Educator in the Mayo Recovery College.
I describe myself as an enthusiastic individual with extensive experience of working in the fields of Mental Health Recovery Education, Family Peer Support and Community Development. I use my Social Capital in the Recovery sphere to support a Recovery culture to flourish and expand.
Recovery for me has been life changing. I am grateful to be a vessel which delivers Recovery Education while being present alongside students as they are empowered to begin or continue on their own journey of discovery & learning.
